Learn the Major Differences Between Corrugated Pallets & Honeycomb Pallets

With ever-expanding distribution prices in every region, saving packaging costs can be difficult. However, using eco-friendly pallets can make a massive difference in such situations. Palettes can be of different types among which honeycomb paper pallets and corrugated pallets are the two notable categories. These pallets can carry tremendous weight which makes these pallets a worthy option for supplying numerous goods.

Pallets are 100% recyclable, lighter than wooden pallets, free from splinters or nails, with no risk of moulds, and no requirements for heat treatment. Pallets can be of different types, corrugated pallets, honeycomb paper pallets, steel pallets, plastic pallets etc. Below we are going to discuss the major differences between corrugated pallets and honeycomb pallets that are available at any reputed carton box supplier.

Bottom & Top Deck

On corrugated pallets, the top and bottom deck Reason is twofold. This makes these pallets have strength in both directions which is attained by operating the fluting 90 degrees on top and bottom deck. But on a honeycomb paper pallet, the top deck is attached with 3 runners which makes these pallets stronger than the other options. For this reason, honeycomb pallets are almost 5% stronger than corrugated paper pallets which makes honeycomb pallets capable of eradicating the requirements for bottom and top deck.

Design

Honeycomb pallets are constructed with inspiration from natural honeycomb structures. To make high-quality honeycomb pallets, corrugated base paper is connected to numerous hollow three-dimensional conventional hexagonal shapes. The entire procedure is performed in a manner called glue bonding to design a vital force-bearing part. For this reason, honeycomb pallets are capable of carrying more loads.

In comparison with other pallets like corrugated paper pallets, the columnar design of honeycomb pellets makes them strong and durable. Fluted corrugated boxes very easily break with temperature and humidity because of their sine wave design. But honeycomb pallets are the exception in this sector.

Shock Resistance

Shock resistance is a great aspect when it comes to the matter of the efficacy of any packaging material. Honeycomb pallets have greater shock resistance than corrugated paper pallets for which reason honeycomb pallets have been used worldwide for years to absorb shock from drops very well.

Weight

Honeycomb pallets weigh a little bit more than the corrugated paper pallets. Corrugated paper pallets are lightweight and are designed to carry the same weight load. For this reason, honeycomb pallets are a bit more expensive.

Humidity & Temperature

Whenever there is a requirement for effective packaging, there are multiple aspects that need to be assessed. Humidity and temperature are two such aspects that decide how any packaging would work in the entire supply or production chain. Honeycomb paper packaging is much more resistant to humidity and temperature in comparison to corrugated pallets.

So, next time, whenever there is a requirement for any pallets, consider these aspects well before choosing any pallet.
